Duke’s USTMA program is led by Ara Metjian, MD, whose clinical interests span benign hematology with particular expertise in acquired disorders of hemostasis, thrombotic microangiopathies, immune-mediated cytopenias, and rare blood disorders.

Duke contributes the infrastructure of a major academic referral center and supports efforts to expand treatment options and clinical-trial access for people living with uncommon hematologic diseases.
